Are you a discount broker?
Let me answer that this way. When I started Michael Dixon Realty in February, I wanted to offer real estate sellers some choices in how they and I, as a team, market their property.
This company is internet based and telephone based. It does not require a bricks-and-mortar office building. It has no employees, and it has no agents who would be paid roughly half of all commissions earned. It is a lean, low-overhead business.
Because it is not a franchise, there is no franchise fee to be paid from every commission. There is no rent payment, no mortgage payment, no big utility bills, no property tax and no maintenance costs.
Like most self-employed people, I do business from home. I need a telephone, a fax machine, a copier and a computer. There is no office and no conference room. Clients sit at my dining room table to go over paper work.
So am I a discount broker? I don't care for the term "discount broker," but let's just say my low overhead translates into choices for my clients. Please refer to "Brokerage fees?" under "Helpful Info" in the left margin. Also, please read "Broker ... or no broker. What's best for you?" on the home page of this web site.
If you are thinking of selling real estate, please call or email me. Let's talk about it.
